Day in day out many of us live for the night, hoping it will bring the unexpected pleasures we love so dearly, accompanied by those tunes that take us away and keep us stepping. Surfacing at the tail end of 2011, Glasgow duo MermaidS have done just that, releasing a slew of quality House and Disco-tinged productions for the later hours, feeding us those lush vibes to keep us going till dawn.

Now set to unveil their very own GoodShip Records imprint with their forthcoming Night Walkin’ EP, the duo recently revealed the EP’s first track, which I’ve had on repeat these past days. Part I* is an absolute beauty, flaunting all kinds of slow-mo dancefloor goodness, saxophone included, while perpetuating a crystal clear statement:

“Night people, hanging out, looking at each other, waiting for something to happen. While the day world is sleeping, night people are creeping, hanging out, looking at each other. While the day world’s not moving, night people start grooving, hanging out, looking for something to happen.”

Time to set sail, catch the right groove and pay heed to the night’s siren call.
