Not only was this apparently recorded on my 30th birthday, it’s also a really cool find that absolutely made my day. “Live! From Wonkabeats Vol.1” is a spotaneously recorded basement freestyle session, featuring the lyrical artistry of  Flex Mathews  with his Deer Park water over some randomly selected, previously unreleased, dope beats by Washingtonian producer Damu The Fudgemunk, straight off his MPC. Here are two hip hop artists doing what they do best, sharing sounds and ideas, rhymes and rhythms, reminiscing on their friendship and more importantly, simply creating.

What’s more, this has recently been released on yellow gradient 10″ wax, limited to 500 copies worldwide.

If you missed out on this release, check out the Redefinition Records SoundCloud profile and see if you can still cop the free download, including a bonus interview not found on the tape or vinyl editions.

Also, if beats are your thing, check out Mass Appeal’s Rhythm Roulette series. Here’s a bonus edition with Damu manning the drumkit.
