Taiwan/South London product Henry Wu is straight trailblazing at the moment, pushing forth a pair of brilliantly soulful and skillfully tightknit releases on Alexander Nut’s Eglo Records related Ho Tep imprint as well as on Berlin-based Odd Socks Records respectively. Both releases feature a fine selection of keys-driven, melodic house gems and beats with a dense analog feel, dusty in sound, but strictly jazz at heart. Wu’s tunes come to life in the hiphop-driven spirit of young, like-minded producers such as Max Graef or Glenn Astro, but retain that certain UK/broken beat flavour in some ways reminiscent of the great Bugz In The Attic.
